Privacy policy

This policy explains what The Lanyard Junction, operated by Excel Promotional Products, collects when you use this website, why, and what we do with it. The short version: we collect what we need to quote and make your lanyards, we never sell it, and you can opt out of marketing email at any time.

1. What we collect

Information you give us. When you request a quote, place an order or contact us, we collect what you enter: your name, organization, email address, phone number, billing and shipping addresses, your lanyard specifications, any artwork you upload, and your comments. If you choose to receive email specials, we record that choice.

Payment details. If you pay by card, you enter your card details on our secure payment form, which is sent over an encrypted connection and seen only by the staff who process your payment. We do not charge your card until you approve your proof, and we do not use it for anything else.

Technical information. Like most websites, our hosting and form services may record your browser type, device, IP address and the pages you visit, in server logs used to keep the site running and secure.

2. How we use it

• To prepare your written quote and free digital proof, and to answer your questions.
• To produce, ship and invoice your order, and to keep your artwork on file for reorders.
• To send you order updates and, only if you opted in, occasional email specials.
• To improve the website and our service.

3. Who sees it

We do not sell, trade or rent your personal information to anyone. We share it only with the services that help us serve you: the form service that delivers your quote and order requests to our inbox, the carrier that delivers your package, and our payment processor. Each is bound to use your information only to provide its service to us. We may also disclose information when the law requires it.

4. Marketing email and how to opt out

You receive marketing email only if you chose "Yes" to email specials. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also opt out any time by emailing sales@thelanyardjunction.com. Opting out does not affect emails about an order in progress.

5. Cookies and third-party services

We may use Google Analytics to understand how the website is used, such as which pages are visited and how visitors arrive. It sets cookies and collects your IP address and device details under Google's privacy policy; we use the reports only in aggregate and never to identify you. You can block it with a browser setting or the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. The website also loads fonts from Google Fonts and current prices from our pricing server; those services may see your IP address when your browser requests those files. Links to our sister sites open on their own websites, which have their own privacy policies.

6. How we protect it

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction. The website is served over an encrypted connection, and access to customer information is limited to staff who need it to handle your order.

7. How long we keep it

We keep order records, artwork and specifications for as long as needed to serve reorders and meet our accounting and legal obligations. You can ask us to delete your artwork and contact details at any time, subject to records we must keep by law.

8. Your choices and rights

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or ask us to stop sending marketing email, by contacting us at the details below. We will not treat you differently for exercising these rights.

9. Children

This website is intended for adults ordering on behalf of organizations. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
